Dear Friends You're Not Alone is stories about the pain,
torment, struggle, the humiliation, of being overweight. It is
also stories of hope, inspiration, determination and the victory
of achieving your weight loss goals.
Dear Friends Your Not Alone is made up of real stories by
real people. True stories about ordinary people doing dealing
with being over weight. Some will talk of the pain some will be
as if you wrote them yourself. Some will tear your heart out
many will touch you deeply and bring tears to your eyes. Some
will be hard to read and get through some will inspire you to
continue on one more day, others will make you feel like you can
climb mountains. You'll learn from these stories and because
they will be so similar to your own journey you will learn you
are not alone - that is the real message of
this book.
Dear Friends Your Not Alone will tug at your heart and
rip the facade off the "Jolly Fat Man" or women. it doesn't
really have a beginning or an end but you will see yourself in
it's pages. By reading other people's stories you will learn
your struggle and pain are not so unique after all. You will
also lean people can lose weight and can triumph over being fat
giving us all more hope and determination.
Guidelines Dear Friends Your Not Alone:
1. Tell an exciting, sad or funny story about something that has
happened to you NOT someone you know regarding being over
weight, fat or obese.
2. Tell your story in a way that will make the reader connect
with you,
see they aren't alone, share the pain or laughter, and the
tears. I want
details so don't leave anything out..
3. The story should start with action; it should include a
problem, issue or situation. It should include dialogue and the
character should express their feelings though the conflict or
situation. It should end in a result, such as a lesson learned,
a positive change or pay-off.
4. Above all, let it come from deep down in your HEART! This is
your
chance to tell your story to the world!
What Dear Friends Your Not Alone IS NOT:
1. It is not about fat acceptance.
2. It is not a sermon, or essay.
3. It is not a eulogy.
4. it is not a school project written for a term paper or
thesis.
5. It is not a bunch of journal entries.
6. it is not about eating disorders like Bulimia or anorexia.
7. it is not a tribute to someone this is YOUR story, by you and
about
you.
1. It is preferred that all
submissions are sent via our website by clicking here.
2. Please be sure to include the author's name ( Your Name) and
contact
information on the first page of each and every story.
3. No anonymous or author unknown submissions please.
6. Send only one copy of each submission.
7. If the story you wrote is published, you will be given a copy
of the
book as payment of your story. no other form of payment is
issued.
8. You will be given full credit for your story in the book.
9. Acknowledgment of your submission is done at the time of
submitting through our website, by clicking here . By submitting
through the website, you will be taken to an acknowledgment
screen on our website directly after hitting "send". This screen
will inform you that the story has been accepted into our
submission process. We strongly encourage you to submit stories
online as it is both the fastest and easiest way for us to
process and review them.
Dear Friends Your Not Alone is expected to take between 2 - 3
years maybe longer to compile and develop. It is an extremely
long and time-consuming process. If your story is chosen for the
book , you will be notified and your permission to print it will
be requested. Feel free to submit more than one story.
